A Big Cheque

The Mayor of Thirsk, Hazel Dalgleish-Brown had a very pleasant task to perform this week. She was at the Herriot Hospice Homecare shop in Thirsk to hand over a very big cheque, the sort designed for photo calls. There to receive it was Lucy Turner, head of fund-raising for the charity. The amount was £7,180, half the proceeds of the Mayor’s Ball held at the end of March. “We are absolutely delighted,” said Lucy. “As a small charity this is a huge sum and will have a big impact on the local community….
