Gone South

Being the only club to reach the Festival stage of the Vitality T20 Cup: the National Finals for the second successive season, Sessay CC Emeralds were set on putting behind them the previous year’s disappointment of semi-final defeat.

The majority of the Emeralds’ party travelled to South Wales early on Saturday afternoon such that the players could hold a formal practice. After practising for a couple of hours the team booked into their hotel, enjoyed a team dinner courtesy of the ECB and relaxed for the evening.

Sunday morning started brightly but by the time Sessay and opponents Ansty from Sussex, had travelled to Dragon Park for the first semi-final, overcast conditions gave way to a light squall….
