Summer Handicap, Half Marathon, and Parkrun Success for Thirsk & Sowerby Harriers
Thirsk & Sowerby Harriers turned out in force across the region this week, kicking off in Wass Woods for their annual Summer Handicap.
A total of 56 members tackled the woodland route, including 43 qualified runners.
Start times were calculated using previous time trial results, with a 2-minute penalty applied to non-qualifiers to assist organizer Duncan Fothergill.
Alan Longmire claimed overall victory and the handicap shield, while Carol Longmire took second in a family double, followed by Duncan Fothergill in third.
Appreciation was extended to all marshals and timekeepers who kept the event running smoothly before the rain arrived.
